JoAnn began her professional career as a systems engineer with IBM Corporation in Minneapolis, MN in 1979. After 12 years, including six in management, JoAnn made a career change into the Human Resources field by joining Jostens in Bloomington, MN. There, she worked as a manager of management and leadership development. After three years, she became the Director of Organizational Development.
In 1999, JoAnn joined a Minneapolis consulting firm, PRISYM Group, as a senior consultant, where she focused on training and organizational development in small to medium-sized businesses. In 2000, she joined Fredrikson Human Resources Consulting as a vice president. While there, JoAnn further developed her practice in organizational development, with an emphasis on performance improvement and HR metrics.
In 2004, JoAnn joined Franklin Street Bakery as Director of Human Resources, where her responsibilities include all aspects of human resources management. In 2005, JoAnn was named Associate General Manager, and in January 2007 was named Senior Vice President and General Manager.
JoAnn Meyer holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Saint Olaf College, an MBA from the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota, and a Masters in Human Development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
